I was a civil engineer at a Mumbai infrastructure consultancy with zero GIS experience. I completed Space Borne’s ArcGIS Pro course first, then added ArcPy six weeks later. Within three months I had automated our entire corridor impact assessment reporting pipeline — what used to take my team four days now runs in four hours. The Mumbai-specific case studies using the Metro corridor data made every exercise feel immediately applicable. I was promoted within six months. If you work in Mumbai infrastructure or urban planning, learning ArcGIS Pro and ArcPy with Space Borne is the highest-ROI professional investment you can make.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any prior GIS or coding experience to join?
No prior experience is needed for the QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, and GEE courses — they all start from absolute zero. For PyQGIS and ArcPy (the Python courses), a basic familiarity with QGIS or ArcGIS Pro respectively is recommended but not mandatory — the courses include a Python fundamentals section before moving into the GIS-specific API.
Are the courses live online or pre-recorded? Can I attend from anywhere in Mumbai?
All courses are delivered as live online sessions — you attend from your own home or office anywhere in Mumbai (or anywhere in India) using a laptop and internet connection. All live sessions are also recorded, so you can revise any class at your own pace. Weekend and weekday batch options are available.
Which course should I start with if I want to do both QGIS and PyQGIS?
Start with the QGIS course — complete it fully, then move directly into the PyQGIS course. The QGIS course gives you the interface knowledge and spatial concepts that PyQGIS builds on. Many students take both back-to-back as a combined 12–16 week programme. The same progression applies for ArcGIS Pro followed by ArcPy.
Is Google Earth Engine really free? What are the limitations?
Yes — Google Earth Engine is free for research, education, and non-commercial use. You register for a free account and immediately access petabytes of satellite data and planetary-scale computing at no cost. The course teaches you to work entirely within the free tier. Commercial use (for businesses generating revenue from GEE data) requires a commercial licence, but for students, researchers, government officers, and NGO professionals, GEE remains completely free.
What kind of jobs in Mumbai will these courses help me get?
GIS professionals are hired across Mumbai’s infrastructure consultancies (L&T, AECOM, Jacobs, WSP), government bodies (MCGM, MMRDA, MCZMA, CIDCO), research institutions (TIFR, IITB, BARC), NGOs (WWF, WCS, Bombay Natural History Society), climate-risk firms, agri-tech and prop-tech startups in Powai and BKC, and the growing ESG/climate finance sector. QGIS and ArcGIS Pro are demanded in planning and infrastructure roles; GEE is most valued in research and environmental monitoring; PyQGIS and ArcPy command the highest salaries as Python-GIS hybrids.
Can I enroll in multiple courses simultaneously?
Yes — many students take two courses concurrently, particularly QGIS + GEE (both free-tool focused) or ArcGIS Pro + GEE (complementary tools). We recommend not combining more than two courses at once if you are also working full-time. The PyQGIS and ArcPy courses are best taken sequentially after their respective GIS platform courses rather than in parallel with them.
